Ester Expósito addresses controversy involving streamer El Xokas

Actress Ester Expósito has addressed the controversy involving content creator El Xokas during an interview on the podcast ‘The Script’ with journalist María Guerra. The dispute arose after the streamer made comments regarding Expósito’s appearance and political views during a live broadcast, comparing her unfavorably to his partner.

Expósito stated that she chose not to respond directly to the comments at the time, noting that the situation felt like she was “talking to herself.” She highlighted the support she received from the public, which helped her realize that many people do not normalize such discourse.

The actress also raised concerns regarding the impunity of large-scale content creators, questioning how many similar comments go unaddressed when they are not directed at high-profile individuals. She emphasized that the debate should extend beyond her specific case to address how certain narratives are normalized on the internet when repeated before massive audiences.

The controversy previously led to professional consequences for El Xokas, including the cancellation of his collaboration with Burger King, which stated his remarks did not align with company values.
