Estevan Police Service investigates hit‑and‑run, impaired driving and gunshot reports
The Estevan Police Service (EPS) responded to a hit‑and‑run collision, locating the victim alive and transporting them to hospital. Officers later stopped a driver displaying signs of impairment; roadside tests and a drug‑recognition evaluation led to an arrest for impaired driving and possession of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. The vehicle was towed and the driver will appear in court.
EPS also concluded a fraud investigation involving a woman charged with fraud under $5,000 and breach of trust, and handled a domestic disturbance, an intoxicated patron arrested for public intoxication, and a break‑and‑enter at a storage container. Additional reports included a stolen bicycle, a false fire alarm, and a call for help that yielded no victim.
Separately, EPS sought public assistance after a complaint of gunshots and sirens near Kohaly Avenue on Aug. 4. Patrols found no evidence of firearms or fireworks. The service also followed up on criminal harassment complaints and confirmed compliance of individuals under court‑ordered conditions.
