Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya cast as leads in ‘Fourth Wing’ series
Prime Video has officially announced the lead casting for its upcoming romantasy drama series ‘Fourth Wing’, based on the bestselling novels by Rebecca Yarros. Esther McGregor will portray Violet Sorrengail, a highly intelligent young woman forced to enter the brutal Basgiath War College to become a dragon rider. Emilio Sakraya has been cast as Xaden Riorson, an enigmatic and ruthless dragon rider who serves as both an adversary and eventual love interest.
The series is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society. Yarros serves as an executive producer alongside Jordan, showrunner Meredith Averill, and Lisa Joy, who is set to direct the first episode. The production follows the massive success of the ‘Empyrean’ book series, which includes titles such as ‘Iron Flame’ and ‘Onyx Storm’.
Sakraya, a German actor and singer, and McGregor, the daughter of actor Ewan McGregor, were selected following a worldwide search for the iconic roles.
