Esther Sapena named Compromís candidate for Gandia mayoralty

The local assembly of Compromís Gandia has unanimously selected Esther Sapena as the party's candidate for the mayoralty in the May 2027 municipal elections. Sapena, the current municipal spokesperson and councilor for Education, Language Policy, and Childhood, becomes the first political group in the city to announce its candidate for the upcoming elections.

Sapena emphasized that the unanimous decision provides the party with strength, security, and internal stability. Her proposed political project focuses on several key pillars, including housing, climate change adaptation, public services such as healthcare and education, and the protection of local heritage and the Valencian language.

She expressed a commitment to a participatory political style based on active listening and direct contact with citizens, stating that politicians should not live in a bubble but rather remain connected to the daily lives of the community.
