Čestmír Strakatý collapses under cyber‑harassment after photo with Minister Oto Klempíř

Podcaster Čestmír Strakatý spoke openly about the severe mental strain he has endured since a photo with Czech Culture Minister Oto Klempíř was posted online. In a recent episode of his show with Daniela Brzobohatá, he described a wave of coordinated cyber‑bullying that left him “not okay” and caused him to consider halting the programme.

Strakatý said the attacks also affected his young daughter, who was repeatedly pulled away by her father’s constant phone use. He recounted harsh criticism from public figures such as actor Jan Hrušínský and described the online abuse as the worst experience of his life. The minister later visited the podcast to clarify the situation, noting that he often uses selfies with public figures for social acceptance.

The incident highlights the personal toll of online hate campaigns on media personalities in the Czech Republic.
