Estonia launches 12th annual Food Month

The 12th annual Estonian Food Month begins this September, aiming to promote local flavors and support Estonian food producers and suppliers. The initiative includes nearly 40 food-related events across the country, such as food festivals, markets, cafe days, and workshops.

More than 50 restaurants and cafes are participating by offering special seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients. Additionally, major retail chains including Coop, Rimi, and Selver are providing special offers on Estonian products. In Tallinn, approximately 20 hotels are highlighting local food through specialized breakfast menus.

Regional and Agricultural Minister Hendrik Johannes Terras noted that local food is a vital component of Estonia’s food security, culture, and economy. The month features established traditions such as the Haapsalu Gourmet Market, the Saaremaa Food Festival, and various autumn pie festivals throughout the country.
