Estonia service export surplus exceeds 1 billion euros

Estonia's service export surplus exceeded one billion euros for the first time in the second quarter of 2026. According to data from Statistics Estonia and the Bank of Estonia, service exports grew by 5% compared to the same period last year, while imports rose by 1%.

In current prices, service exports totaled over 3.7 billion euros, while imports reached nearly 2.7 billion euros. This surplus was primarily driven by telecommunications, computer, and information services, which saw sales exceed purchases by 416 million euros. Approximately 20% of these services were exported to the United States and 15% to the United Kingdom.

Other significant contributors included business services, where sales exceeded purchases by 215 million euros. The largest export categories were other business services at 1.2 billion euros, followed by telecommunications and IT services at 916 million euros, and transport services at 655 million euros. Key export partners included Finland (14%), the United States (8%), and Germany (8%).
