Estonia wages rise 5.5% to €2,243 in second quarter of 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, Estonia's average gross monthly wage rose by 5.5% to €2,243 compared to the same period in 2025. The median salary reached €1,840, marking a 6.1% year-on-year increase.

Wage growth was particularly strong in the manufacturing and construction sectors, which are recovering as the economy improves and exports grow. In the public sector, growth was driven by collective agreements in healthcare, education, and public administration. Conversely, wage growth in the private sector slowed. The 6.8% increase in the minimum wage implemented in April also contributed to higher growth for wages below the national average.

Regional data shows that Harju County maintained the highest average wages at €2,488, while Tallinn averaged €2,611. The largest percentage increases were recorded in Ida-Viru County (8%) and Hiiu County (7%). By economic activity, the information and communication sector reported the highest average gross wages at €3,837, while the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector saw a 19.6% year-on-year increase.
