Estonian guard Kristian Kullamäe signs with Romanian club U‑BT Cluj
Estonian basketball player Kristian Kullamäe (born 25 May 1999, 1.95 m) has signed a contract to join U‑Banca Transilvania (U‑BT Cluj) for the 2026‑27 season. The move follows his stint with Lithuanian club Lietkabelis Panevėžys, where he was a key contributor in both the domestic league and the EuroCup.
Kullamäe, a versatile combo guard who can play point‑guard and shooting‑guard, has been a regular member of Estonia’s senior national team since 2019. He logged averages of 13.8 points, 5.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds at the 2025 European Championship and 12.3 points, 4 assists and 3.8 rebounds in the 2027 World‑Championship qualifiers. Coach Mihai Silvășan praised his basketball IQ, shooting range and development potential. He becomes U‑BT Cluj’s eighth summer addition, joining recent sign‑ons Bobe Nicolescu, Otis Livingston II, Jalyn McCreary, Dušan Beslać, Malcolm Hill, Javon Bess and Uroš Plavšić.
