Estonian Henry Räppo and South African Bridget Theunissen Win Challenge Turku Triathlon

Henry Räppo of Estonia and Bridget Theunissen of South Africa claimed overall victories at the 11th edition of the Challenge Turku triathlon, held in Turku, Finland, on July 26, 2026. Both athletes excelled despite challenging wet and rainy conditions. Räppo finished the men's race in 3:35:10, edging out Finland’s Henrik Goesch, Sweden’s Gabriel Sandör and Poland’s Jakub Maliszewski. Theunissen dominated the women's race, crossing the line in 4:12:12 ahead of Great Britain’s Jasmine Holmes and the Netherlands’ Maaike Vooren.

The race featured a coastal swim along Turku’s historic ships, a fast bike segment where Germany’s Jonathan Homberg recorded the quickest split (1:56:54), and a run that saw Räppo regain the lead early and extend his advantage to the finish.
