Estonian Rescue League delivers aid to Ukraine for winter survival

The Estonian Rescue League (Päästeliit) has delivered a significant shipment of crisis tents and equipment to Ukraine to assist civilians during the upcoming winter. Funded by donors and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the aid is designed to provide temporary shelter, electricity, and warmth to over 30,000 people.

The shipment sent to Kyiv includes a minibus, high-pressure tents with trailers, diesel heaters, battery stations, lighting masts, thermal blankets, and various essential supplies such as chargers and hygiene items. This equipment will allow rescuers to establish two crisis centers where residents can find warmth, charge devices, and receive psychological first aid.

A second shipment reached rescuers in the Rivne region, containing an off-road vehicle, a generator, battery stations, and heaters. Piia Kallas, leader of the Rescue League, noted that the situation in Kyiv is currently more severe than ever, expressing concern that the upcoming winter will place civilians, particularly children, in even more precarious positions due to ongoing targeting of rescue services.
