Estonians increase interest in foreign real estate investments

Estonians are increasingly interested in purchasing property abroad, both for holiday homes and as investment opportunities. According to Margit Volt, development manager for home loans at Luminor, the most popular destinations are Spain, Finland, and Italy.

In Spain and Italy, interest is primarily focused on apartments, often intended as vacation homes to escape daily life. In contrast, interest in Finland is more closely linked to work or family ties, with buyers seeking detached houses to serve as secondary residences.

Investment-driven purchases are also notable, particularly in Bali, Indonesia, where properties are primarily sought for rental purposes. While Portugal was a popular destination in previous years, it has dropped out of the top five most sought-after locations this year. Interest in Italy has seen the fastest growth over the past year due to its climate and culture.
