Estoril woman found dead in residential swimming pool

A 51-year-old woman was found dead in a swimming pool at a residence on Avenida General Carmona in Estoril, Cascais, on Sunday. Authorities were alerted to the scene at approximately 12:35 p.m.

The Public Security Police (PSP) attended the location and secured the area. Due to the circumstances, the case has been handed over to the Judicial Police (PJ) and the Public Ministry, who are leading the investigation to determine the cause of death and whether the incident was an accident or involved third-party intervention.

While the body was found in the pool, officials noted that this does not automatically confirm drowning as the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing to reconstruct the events leading up to the discovery.
