Estrada Caminho do Meio to undergo total closure in Rio Grande do Sul
The Estrada Caminho do Meio will face a total traffic closure for 32 hours between Friday (23) and Saturday (24) in the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region. The interruption will occur from 9:00 AM on Friday until 5:00 PM on Saturday, affecting the stretch between the RS-040 roundabout in Viamão and Beco da Bibi in Alvorada.
The closure is necessary for drainage services as part of a R$ 280 million project to duplicate and qualify 23.08 kilometers of roads connecting Viamão, Alvorada, and Porto Alegre. The project is being coordinated by the Secretariat of Urban and Metropolitan Development (Sedur).
Alternative routes have been established: light vehicles and cars should use Beco da Bibi, while trucks and heavy vehicles are directed to Rua Alan Kardec. Local access will be restricted exclusively to residents. Municipal teams from Viamão and Alvorada will be stationed at the blockage points to provide guidance. The schedule may change in the event of heavy rain.
