Estrela da Amadora acquired by consortium including Müller and Hummels

An international investment consortium has acquired a 90% majority stake in the Portuguese Primeira Liga club Estrela da Amadora. The transaction, valued at approximately €40 million, was led by investment firms ADvantage and LEAD, with support from the KI Group.

The group includes several high-profile football figures, specifically former Bayern Munich teammates Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels, Yann Sommer, and Lucas Hernández. These players are expected to provide strategic expertise and international networks to the club.

Johannes Mösmang, a former player manager at Bayern Munich, has been appointed as the new president of the club’s SAD. He succeeds Paulo Lopo, who had overseen the club’s rise from a 2020 reconstruction to the Portuguese top flight. The new ownership aims to focus on long-term sporting development, infrastructure, and technological growth, leveraging the club's unique asset of owning its own stadium.
