Estrela da Amadora forced to move Braga match due to stadium pitch ban

The Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) has banned Estrela da Amadora from using the Estádio José Gomes for their upcoming match against Sporting de Braga. The decision follows repeated negative evaluations regarding the condition of the pitch during the first two matches of the season.

Estrela da Amadora expressed indignation and incomprehension over the decision, noting that the ban was issued less than three days before the scheduled game. The club stated they had invested approximately 15,000 euros into pitch maintenance and had followed all previous instructions from the league.

As a result, the delayed third-round Liga Portugal fixture will instead be held at the Estádio do FC Alverca on Thursday at 20:15. Estrela da Amadora plans to replace the current pitch following recent maintenance interventions, with the goal of returning to their home stadium for their next match on September 20.
