Estrella Damm named Spain’s most awarded beer of 2025

Estrella Damm, the Mediterranean lager brewed in Barcelona since 1876, was recognized as Spain’s most awarded beer for 2025. The brand received 16 international medals, including a perfect 100/100 gold at the World Beer Challenge and the International Lager Country Winner title at the World Beer Awards.

The awards span major competitions such as the European Beer Challenge, Asia Beer Challenge, Australian International Beer Awards, Monde Selection, Frankfurt International Trophy, Melbourne International Beer Competition, and the Berlin International Beer Competition. In total the tally comprises nine gold, four silver, one bronze, and two special recognitions. The beer, a 5.4% ABV low‑fermentation lager made from water, barley malt, rice and hops, is highlighted for its balanced cereal character, elegant bitterness and fresh taste. 2025 also marks the 150th anniversary of the brewery, founded by August Kuentzmann Damm.
