Estrellas Orientales prepare for Dominican baseball season

The Estrellas Orientales are preparing for the upcoming Dominican Professional Baseball League season, which is scheduled to begin on October 16. Nicaraguan outfielder Ismael Munguía, entering his third consecutive season as an import player for the team, has expressed his readiness to play in any of the three outfield positions, though he noted that center field is his preference.

Munguía joins the team following a productive 2026 season in the United States minor leagues with the Toronto Blue Jays organization, where he maintained a .324 batting average across multiple levels. During his previous two seasons with the Estrellas, he recorded a .331 batting average.

Additionally, the team's games will be broadcast nationally via a network of radio and television channels, including Teleantillas, Coral 39, Claro TV, and Xtremo Channel. The broadcasts will be coordinated by Pável Aguiló and feature a team of narrators and commentators led by Osvaldo Rodríguez Suncar.
