Estudiantes coach Alexander Medina criticizes performance and names squad for Vélez match

Estudiantes coach Alexander Medina issued a strong self-criticism following a recent defeat, describing the team's first-half performance as “the worst of his cycle.” Medina noted that while training had been effective, the team failed to translate that work to the pitch and was outperformed in several aspects. He also addressed concerns regarding player rotations and noted that some players are currently performing below their potential.

Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Vélez, Medina has called up a 24-man squad. The roster includes four new signings, notably Jalil Elias, and the return of Colombian midfielder Miguel Monsalve. Additionally, the team is monitoring the physical condition of Joaquín Correa, who left the previous match with a minor injury and will undergo medical evaluation.
