Estudios Churubusco celebrates 80 years of Mexican cinema with exhibition

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Estudios Churubusco and National Mexican Cinema Day, the Mexican Secretariat of Culture, through Indautor, has inaugurated a photographic exhibition titled “Estudios Churubusco: 80 años de ser la casa del cine mexicano”.

The exhibition is located at the Indautor exhibition hall in Mexico City and is open to the public until September 17. It features historical images sourced from the National General Archive, the Cineteca Nacional, the Mediateca of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), and the Estudios Churubusco archives.

The collection provides a visual history of the complex since its origins in 1943, highlighting the construction of its forums, technical trades, and iconic figures such as Pedro Infante, Sara García, Germán Valdés “Tin Tan”, Silvia Pinal, and Flor Silvestre. The display aims to recognize the work behind the camera and preserve the cultural heritage of the national film industry.
