Morena Ramoreboli joins Bafana Bafana technical team

Morena Ramoreboli has resigned as the head coach of the Botswana national team, the Zebras, to join the South African national team, Bafana Bafana, as an assistant coach. The move was confirmed in a joint statement by the Botswana Football Association (BFA) and the South African Football Association (SAFA).

Ramoreboli will serve under head coach Pitso Mosimane in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign. He replaces Helman Mkhalele in the technical setup.

Ramoreboli leaves Botswana following a successful tenure in which he guided the Zebras to the 2024 AFCON finals, ending a 12-year absence from the tournament. His coaching legacy in Botswana also includes winning two Botswana Premier League titles with Jwaneng Galaxy and leading the club to the CAF Champions League group stage on two occasions.
