Eswatini government opens scholarship applications

The Eswatini Ministry of Labour and Social Security has announced that scholarship applications are now open for students seeking tertiary education. Eligible programs include studies at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Mbabane Campus, as well as institutions in South Africa and Namibia.

Applicants must submit their requests online through the Scholarship Loan Application System (SLAS). To qualify, students must hold final offer letters from accredited or government-recognized institutions; provisional admission letters are not accepted. Additionally, those wishing to study abroad must meet a minimum requirement of 33 points, calculated from their best five passed subjects.

Prospective students are advised to ensure their chosen fields of study align with the government’s priority list of programs. The ministry emphasized that the application process is free of charge and warned students against paying individuals for assistance. Support is available through the Scholarship Office in Mbabane or via telephone.
