Eswatini launches initiatives to support youth employment and entrepreneurship
Initiatives in Eswatini are targeting youth unemployment by bridging the gap between academic qualifications and practical workplace readiness. Khuluma Eswatini recently hosted a business seminar at Southern Africa Nazarene University for over 300 young people. The seminar focused on interpersonal skills, customer care, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to prepare participants for a changing labor market.
Complementing these efforts, the Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) has launched a TVET Support Programme. This E500,000 investment provides 89 young people across the Hhohho, Lubombo, Manzini, and Shiselweni regions with practical toolkits. Beneficiaries in trades such as carpentry, electrical installation, welding, and motor mechanics will receive the equipment necessary to turn their technical skills into sustainable livelihoods. The programme also includes training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and business management.
