Eswatini receives two more deportees from the United States
Two additional migrants deported from the United States arrived in Eswatini on Thursday. The two men, who are from Latin America, were received at King Mswati III International Airport.
These individuals are part of a group of 32 deportees accepted by Eswatini since July of last year. This arrangement is part of a $5 million agreement with the United States, which provided funds intended to strengthen the kingdom's border and migration management capacity. The agreement aims to facilitate the acceptance of up to 160 deportees.
Eswatini officials stated that the deportees are in the country only temporarily, as the government expects them to be returned to their original countries of origin. Some previous deportees have already utilized voluntary repatriation to reunite with their families.
