Eswatini to host three major international conferences in October
Eswatini is set to host three major international conferences from October 5 to 9, a development expected to significantly impact the nation's tourism and hospitality sectors. The gatherings will bring thousands of delegates to the country to discuss critical continental issues including food security, education, and climate resilience.
The African Union’s inaugural Africa Seed Summit 2026 is the largest of the events, with Minister of Tourism Jane Mkhonta-Simelane stating that more than 3,000 people are expected to attend the agriculture-focused summit alone. The event will involve heads of state, ministers, and private-sector stakeholders, culminating in a summit declaration.
In addition to the seed summit, the country will host the 17th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa and the Pan-African Conference on Teachers’ Education (PACTED 2026). These simultaneous meetings are expected to place high demand on Eswatini’s accommodation sector and strengthen its position as a destination for business events.
