Eswatini tourism arrivals rise 8 per cent amid growth targets

Eswatini’s tourism sector is experiencing growth, with visitor arrivals increasing by 8 per cent compared to the previous year. More than 562,000 visitors have entered the country, supporting the nation’s goal to attract 2 million visitors and generate E2 billion in revenue by 2027. Eswatini Tourism CEO Vusi Dlamini noted that improved air connectivity, specifically through Eswatini Air’s flights to Zambia, has contributed to the rise in arrivals.

In tandem with this growth, the Eswatini Tourism Authority is managing the collection of a 3 per cent tourism levy from accommodation establishments. Recent data shows that E4.066 million in bed levies was collected, though the compliance rate among registered entities currently stands at 32 per cent. The Authority enforces a 5 per cent penalty for late payments and requires establishments to submit returns by the 7th of the following month.
