Argentine players advance to US Open third round

Argentine tennis players achieved significant success at the US Open, with Francisco Cerúndolo, Tomás Etcheverry, and Mariano Navone all advancing to the third round.

Cerúndolo secured his first career advancement to the third round of the US Open by defeating Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff in a five-set match (5-7, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3). He is scheduled to face Taylor Fritz in the next round.

Tomás Etcheverry also reached the third round after a four-set victory over Britain's Jacob Fearnley (6-3, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3). Etcheverry is set to face compatriot Mariano Navone in the third round. Navone advanced following a victory over Italy's Matteo Berrettini (3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6).

Other Argentine results included exits for Marco Trungelliti, who lost to Belgium's Alexander Blockx, and Nadia Podoroska, who fell to Iga Swiatek.
