ETECSA to expand solar energy use for communications in Unión de Reyes
ETECSA is launching the second phase of an energy matrix transition project at the telecommunications center in Unión de Reyes, Cuba. Scheduled to begin next week, the initiative aims to expand communication coverage and move toward providing 24-hour service in the regional capital.
The project involves installing 24 solar panels, three charge controllers, and inverters to strengthen the facility's energy autonomy and stabilize communications. This effort addresses local demands for more reliable service during periods of energy instability. The phase builds upon previous work focused on utilizing renewable energy sources to improve service availability for the local population and economic activities.
