ETF product launches surpass 2025 annual record

The exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry has officially exceeded its previous annual record for new product launches. Year-to-date, 1,159 new ETFs have debuted, surpassing the full-year total of 1,143 funds recorded in 2025.

Amid this rapid expansion, specific funds are gaining attention for their performance. The Portfolio Building Block Integrated Oil and Gas and Exploration and Production Index ETF (PBOG) has reported returns of approximately 56% since its launch, driven by a focus on global crude oil and natural gas exploration and development.

In broader market news, JP Morgan Asset Management has identified a “generational amount of yield” in the bond markets, suggesting that US debt could offer returns as high as 8% over the next year. Meanwhile, discussions continue regarding potential changes to investor protections, as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) considers modernizing arbitration rules used by individual investors to seek recovery for losses.
