Ethan Mbappé targeted by Cameroon amid France youth career

Ethan Mbappé, the 19-year-old midfielder for Lille OSC, is facing a decision regarding his international football career. Having recently debuted for the France Espoirs team during the last international window, appearing in qualifiers against Iceland and Estonia, the former PSG player is also being targeted by the Cameroonian football federation.

Due to his father Wilfrid Mbappé’s Cameroonian origins, Ethan is eligible to represent the Indomitable Lions. While he has established himself in the French youth setup, the Cameroonian federation views him as a significant potential addition to their squad, alongside players like Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba.

Mbappé’s current focus remains on his development at Lille under manager Bruno Genesio and performing in the upcoming U21 European Championship, though his long-term international allegiance remains an open question.
