Ethel Pozo reveals teenage romance with former Menudo singer

Peruvian television host Ethel Pozo revealed on her podcast, ‘Sin Mas Que Decir’, that she had a secret long-distance teenage romance with former Menudo singer Ricky Lopez.

Pozo stated the relationship began when she was approximately 13 years old after meeting Lopez at a television studio in Lima where her mother, veteran host Gisela Valcarcel, was working. The two maintained contact via telephone calls from Puerto Rico to Peru.

Pozo explained that the romance eventually faded due to the differing lifestyles of the two teenagers; while she was living a routine school life in Lima, Lopez was managing the demanding travel and professional obligations of a touring pop artist. She also noted that the relationship ended following a tragic car accident involving Lopez.
