NEAR Protocol eyes growth through AI and cross-chain infrastructure
NEAR Protocol is experiencing significant market momentum, with its token price rising approximately 140% over a 30-day period. Analysts are monitoring key resistance levels near $6, noting that a successful breakout could pave the way for higher price targets, including $10 or even $16.
Beyond price action, the protocol is focusing on technological expansion through NEAR Intents, which facilitates seamless cross-chain swaps. This infrastructure has reportedly processed cumulative volumes between $30 billion and $33 billion, with September seeing a record swap volume of approximately $4.8 billion. This technology is designed to support interoperability across multiple blockchains, reducing complexity for users.
A major strategic pillar for the protocol is its integration with artificial intelligence. NEAR is positioning itself as a settlement layer for autonomous AI agents, capable of performing financial transactions and managing digital assets without human intervention. To support this, the ecosystem has announced a $20 million AI Agent Fund.
Institutional interest is also growing, highlighted by the launch of the Bitwise NEAR ETF on NYSE Arca. Additionally, a fee switch mechanism introduced in early 2026 aims to direct value from network usage toward token buybacks, potentially linking increased protocol activity with token demand.
