Ethereum faces key resistance as traders eye $3,000 target
Ethereum (ETH) is currently navigating a period of consolidation as it faces critical technical resistance levels. Analysts are closely monitoring the $2,750 to $2,855 range; a sustained break above $2,800 is viewed as a necessary step to confirm a bullish trend and potentially target the $3,000 mark.
Market data indicates a notable shift in the rally's composition. Unlike previous price surges, the current recovery is characterized by lower leverage, with futures open interest at approximately $14 billion—significantly lower than the $33 billion seen during previous peaks. This suggests the move is driven more by accumulation than heavy derivatives betting.
However, conflicting signals persist. While some technical indicators show bullish accumulation, rising exchange inflows and recent outflows from U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs suggest potential selling pressure. If Ethereum fails to defend key support levels near $2,650, analysts warn the price could retreat toward the $2,490 to $2,500 zone.
