Ethereum Foundation announces Devcon 8 for Mumbai in 2026

The Ethereum Foundation has announced that Devcon 8, its premier developer and research conference, will be held in Mumbai, India, from November 3 to November 6, 2026. The event will take place at the Jio World Centre.

This marks the first time the conference will be hosted in South Asia. The decision highlights India’s growing role in the blockchain ecosystem; the country is home to over 17 million GitHub developers and has been a major source of new crypto developers since 2023. Organizers aim to tap into local grassroots communities such as ETHMumbai, Devfolio, and Polygon.

Devcon 8 is expected to host between 10,000 and 12,000 attendees with over 600 sessions planned. To encourage local participation, the foundation is offering discounted ticket pricing for Indian residents, which can be as low as $149 when verified through Aadhaar and zero-knowledge proof technology.
