Ethereum Foundation supports default wallet privacy via Kohaku SDK
The Ethereum Foundation has expressed support for implementing default privacy protections in cryptocurrency wallets to enhance user security. The Foundation argues that limiting access to on-chain histories can prevent attackers from using personal transaction data for social engineering, blackmail, or theft.
Central to this initiative is Kohaku, a software development kit (SDK) designed to integrate privacy protocols directly into wallet interfaces. The SDK includes integrations with Railgun, Privacy Pools, and Tornado Cash, allowing developers to implement privacy features without rewriting entire systems. Kohaku also features post-quantum accounts to prepare for future cryptographic challenges.
Ambire has been testing these integrations for several months. A demonstration of Kohaku using Ambire is scheduled to take place at Devcon on November 3.
