Ethereum eyes $2,000 resistance amid rising network activity and institutional interest
Ethereum (ETH) is currently navigating a period of market consolidation, trading near the $1,850 to $1,900 range. While the asset remains significantly below its 2025 highs, several indicators suggest a potential shift in momentum. Network activity is rising, with daily new addresses increasing from approximately 121,210 to over 212,560, signaling growing user adoption.
Institutional interest remains a key driver. Fidelity has filed with the SEC to allow staking within its $898 million Ethereum fund, reflecting a growing demand for institutional-grade yield. However, spot Ethereum ETFs recently recorded a $2.26 million weekly outflow, ending a five-week period of positive inflows. Additionally, BitMine continues to hold a significant portion of the circulating supply, though its recent pace of accumulation has slowed.
Technical analysts are closely watching the $1,920 resistance level. A decisive daily close above this mark could trigger a breakout toward the $2,000 psychological threshold. Conversely, failure to maintain the $1,850 support level could lead to further downside toward $1,800. Market sentiment is further influenced by discussions regarding potential token scarcity as networks consider lowering annual production rates.
