Bitcoin and Ethereum face market volatility amid economic uncertainty
Major cryptocurrencies are undergoing a period of consolidation following a strong third quarter. Bitcoin has experienced recent price fluctuations, briefly dipping below $80,000 due to a combination of factors including rising US inflation, concerns over Federal Reserve interest rate hikes, and a sharp decline in the South Korean Kospi index.
While Bitcoin and XRP have seen social media sentiment turn bearish, Ethereum has attracted significant bullish discussion on platforms like X, Reddit, and Telegram. However, this positive sentiment has not yet translated into strong demand for Ethereum ETFs, which have seen net outflows exceeding $780 million over a ten-day period. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust has accounted for a significant portion of these recent outflows.
Market analysts are closely monitoring key price levels, such as the $81,500 mark, which represents the average entry price for US spot ETFs. Despite the current volatility and regulatory uncertainties following the failure of the Clarity Act in the US Senate, some strategists suggest that the potential for recovery remains high if key support levels hold.
