BitMine adds 17,000 ETH amid Ethereum's Q3 outperformance
BitMine has increased its Ethereum (ETH) holdings by adding 17,000 ETH, signaling a potential strategic shift toward altcoins. This move occurs as Ethereum has outperformed Bitcoin (BTC) in the third quarter, yielding a return on investment of over 70% compared to Bitcoin’s 43%.
Despite Ethereum's performance, institutional demand remains heavily skewed toward Bitcoin, with Bitcoin ETFs seeing over $6 billion in net inflows for Q3, more than double Ethereum's $3 billion. Analysts are watching the ETH/BTC ratio for a breakout above the 0.03 resistance level, which could confirm if Ethereum's momentum carries into the fourth quarter.
In the broader crypto market, Bitcoin is currently testing support levels near $82,400 after a period of consolidation, while Ethereum is navigating a trading range between $2,600 and $2,800. Solana is also facing a period of price discovery after entering a lower trading range.
