Ethiopian Airlines and China Southern Airlines sign codeshare deal

Ethiopian Airlines and China Southern Airlines have entered into a codeshare agreement to expand aviation connectivity between China and Africa. The partnership aims to enhance direct air services and provide passengers with smoother connections across the combined networks of both carriers.

In conjunction with this agreement, China Southern Airlines has launched a new passenger service connecting Guangzhou and Addis Ababa via Changsha. Operating twice weekly using Boeing 787 aircraft, this route serves as the only direct connection between China and Ethiopia currently operated by a Chinese carrier. The service is intended to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods while strengthening economic and transportation links between the two regions.
