Ethnic Roots Festival celebrates International Tourism Day in San Andrés

The Ethnic Roots International Festival (FIER 2026) is celebrating its third day in San Andrés, coinciding with International Tourism Day. The event focuses on the intersection of local island residents and international visitors.

Activities at the Cañón de Morgan include the opening of Fair Tables featuring typical food, agricultural products, and local entrepreneurship stands. The festival aims to promote conscious tourism that respects the Raizal culture, local language, music, and the environmental fragility of the Caribbean island. Recent performances have featured voices from Guyana, Jamaica, Medellín, and San Andrés, alongside musical contributions from Catangón de Timbiquí.
