Ethno festivals kick off in Otočac, Croatia and Čačak, Serbia

The 22nd Eko Etno Gacka festival began on July 24 in Otočac, Croatia, featuring a market of local products, traditional foods and a cooking competition with 39 teams from across the country. The program includes a children’s theatre show, live tamburica music and a range of sweet and savory stalls.

In Serbia, the 10th edition of the international folk festival ETNOFEST opened on July 22 in Čačak. The opening ceremony on the city square showcased participants from Paraguay, Mexico, Colombia, Greece and Portugal, along with a traditional parade and a presentation of Serbian cuisine prepared by local women’s associations. Both events aim to promote regional culture, cuisine and folk traditions.
