Ethnographic Museum in Dolna Oryahovitsa hosts traditional workshops
The Ethnographic Museum in Dolna Oryahovitsa is hosting a series of ‘Family Saturdays’ throughout August, focusing on traditional Bulgarian food and crafts. The initiative, held in partnership with the local municipality, aims to combine education with entertainment for families.
Recent activities included a workshop on making lyutenitsa, a traditional Bulgarian pepper and tomato spread, using an authentic recipe. Participants, including children visiting from Germany, engaged in peeling peppers, grinding tomatoes, and cooking the mixture over an open fire.
Upcoming sessions for the remainder of August include demonstrations on beekeeping by Simeon Georgiev, pottery workshops led by Ani and Dimitar Spasov, and a bread-making session with Chef Ivaylo Ivanov. The program is designed to preserve regional ethnographic heritage through hands-on participation.
