ETHYDCO visited by Egyptian Minister of Labor

Egyptian Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad visited the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) in Alexandria to inspect its work systems, occupational safety, and health standards.

During the visit, Raddad discussed ways to enhance cooperation in training, employment, and social responsibility. He emphasized the importance of linking vocational training to the actual needs of the labor market, particularly in specialized technical sectors like petrochemicals. The Minister noted the company's role in supporting the local market and exports, as well as its efforts in environmental protection and empowering people with disabilities.

ETHYDCO, established in 2011 with approximately $1.9 billion in investments, employs about 850 workers. The facility produces ethylene derivatives, including polyethylene and polybutadiene, with a design capacity for polyethylene reaching 400,000 tons annually. The company's products are used in various industries, such as piping, packaging, and plastic manufacturing.
