Eti Bakır's Siirt operation contributes $180 million to Turkey

Eti Bakır's Siirt operation is contributing approximately $180 million annually to the Turkish economy through the production of copper concentrate. The facility in Madenköy extracts about 1 million tons of run-of-mine ore per year, which is processed into 80,000 tons of copper concentrate. This concentrate is then sent to the Samsun Smelting and Electrolysis Plant for cathode copper production.

Olcay Kotiloğlu, Manager of the Siirt Operation, noted that the facility utilizes advanced technology, including remote-controlled underground equipment and conveyor lines, to ensure high efficiency and safety. The mine features a shaft depth of 669 meters and a tower height of 74.5 meters, representing the first vertical shaft system established in metallic mines in Turkey. The company's total operations across eight mines produce 90,000 tons of cathode copper annually, meeting roughly 25% of Turkey's yearly copper demand.
