38‑year‑old Laon man charged with murder after Vervins stabbing

A 38‑year‑old man from Laon was formally charged with homicide after a 46‑year‑old resident of Vervins, Aisne, was found dead with multiple knife wounds in the common area of his apartment building. Prosecutor Jean‑Baptiste Miot said the victim suffered at least four stab wounds and that the autopsy confirmed the injuries caused the death. The suspect was placed in pre‑trial detention following his arrest on the night of the incident. A second man, a 46‑year‑old who was staying with the victim, was initially detained but released after investigators concluded he was likely assisting the victim after the attack.
