Etihad Airways launches inaugural daily flights to Tashkent

Etihad Airways has launched its inaugural daily non-stop service between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, marking the airline's first route into Uzbekistan. The new service, operated using Airbus A320 aircraft, aims to strengthen tourism, trade, and business connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Central Asia.

To enhance regional access, Etihad has established a codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways. This agreement allows passengers traveling through Tashkent to connect to eight additional Uzbek cities, including Bukhara, Samarkand, Fergana, and Nukus, as well as various international destinations within the Uzbekistan Airways network.

Frank Meyer, Chief Digital Officer of Etihad Airways, described the launch as a significant milestone in the company's network expansion, noting Uzbekistan's status as one of Central Asia's fastest-growing and most economically significant markets. The route is intended to position Abu Dhabi as a primary gateway connecting Uzbekistan to the GCC, Europe, the Levant, and North America.
