Etihad Arena features adaptable design for Abu Dhabi events
Etihad Arena, located on the Yas Bay waterfront on Yas Island, serves as a versatile centerpiece for Abu Dhabi’s entertainment and sports infrastructure. Designed by architects HOK and Pascall+Watson, the venue features an adaptable layout capable of hosting up to 18,000 spectators for large-scale events or reconfiguring into an intimate 500-seat theatre.
This functional flexibility allows the arena to host a diverse range of programming, including international sporting competitions, large concerts, theatrical productions, and stand-up comedy. Recent notable events at the venue include the UAE National Orchestra for the Abu Dhabi Festival and the Abu Dhabi debut of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. The facility is part of a broader strategic effort by the city to establish itself as a premier global destination for major cultural and athletic spectacles.
