UAE transport networks to integrate via Etihad Rail and Dubai Metro expansion

The United Arab Emirates is advancing major transport integration projects involving Etihad Rail, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Etihad Airways. Etihad Airways and Etihad Rail have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create a seamless air-rail travel experience, exploring initiatives such as dedicated shuttle services between Zayed International Airport and the Mohammed Bin Zayed City Passenger Station.

In Dubai, the RTA has announced plans for four rail connections. Two stations will serve the national Etihad Rail passenger network, including the Al Yalayis station scheduled to open on September 30 and a second station planned for the Meydan area to integrate with the future Dubai Metro Gold Line.

Additionally, two stations are planned for a future high-speed rail link between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, located at Al Maktoum International Airport and Al Jaddaf. This electrified high-speed service aims to reduce travel time between the two major economic hubs to approximately 30 minutes, integrating with Dubai’s existing Red, Green, and Blue Metro lines.
