Etimesgut residents protest removal of 11 trees for road work

Residents of the Piyade neighborhood in Etimesgut, Ankara, have expressed distress following the removal of 11 trees during a road widening project on Ahi Mesut Boulevard. The work, reportedly carried out by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality teams, took place late at night.

Local residents noted that the trees were approximately 20 years old. Neighbors reported that the cutting was completed very quickly, with some claiming the trees were destroyed within minutes. Residents stated they had attempted to voice their concerns to officials in the days leading up to the event but were unable to reach anyone to resolve the issue or protect the greenery.
