Etna and Catania region highlight seasonal culture and tourism in October
The province of Catania and the Etna region offer diverse cultural and seasonal experiences during the month of October. The period is characterized by milder temperatures, reduced tourist crowds, and clear skies, making it an ideal time for exploring the Etna volcano, including the Rifugio Sapienza and the Crateri Silvestri. The season is also marked by local festivals celebrating seasonal products such as chestnuts, pistachios, new oil, and the grape harvest.
In Paternò, the Associazione Culturale Capuana will present the theatrical performance ‘Sutta à muntagna’ on October 1 at the San Biagio parish oratory. Supported by the Sicilian Regional Assembly, the show explores the identity and traditions of the Etnean people, tracing their ancestral relationship with the volcano through the works of famous Sicilian authors.
